Video is good, but audio? Nope. My understanding is that the original poster used Nero and selected AAC as the audio. The bit rate was 80-120 on the audio. It was heavily compressed, in the words of the OP, "to make for faster up and downloads ..."
I'm no ingrate, I appreciate other people's efforts (always), but audio on this film is a crucial part of the overall work. The narration (which is extensive in the film) is muddled. Think about it: An over three-hour movie in under one gig? i'm not complaining, just putting up my own advisory, take it or leave it.
Well, unadvisable. An mp4 file. I tried opening it with VLC - which I always do, and the video kept pausing every second - like it's broken. Even the subs provided are not English. I tried Windows Media Player, video was good then and so was audio, but audio/visual not in sync. Also tried Winamp but same problem.
it's best you download .avi files only. Downloading another rip. Thanks nevertheless, uploader.

if you allowed the download to complete before trying to watch it you want to look into getting a better pc.there is nothing wrong with the file.also there are english srt sub file links earlier.here's a thumbnail from MPC.played in sync normal dvd quality.
I did allow the download to complete before trying, I am that patient. I don't understand what you know about the PC I'm using? Or do you need a super-computer to play this? Because then, I use a normal one.
My, that comment, was for normal people, with normal provisions to watch a movie. It doesn't work with the standard VLC that you have on your computer, sans the codecs or whatever you call it, that can be additionally installed - that's all I want to say.
A10 V10 really can't understand why people are having problems with this file. It played (as does just about anything else) with no problems on VLC player. One of the finest films I've ever seen. an excellent copy perfect audio. There is a small part where there is French spoken but it really doesn't take away from the film to not fully understand what is being said.
from the description you gave of what's happening that tells anyone about your pc.there is nothing wrong with the file as demonstrated from the pic i supplied.any problems are on your end so that leaves a weak pc or an incomplete download or another problem with something on your pc.files do not become something they are not.
I never said they become anything they are not.
Regarding my PC, I must have downloaded more than hundred movies so far, and they all worked. You missed the point I made, I said it's an .mp4 file, and you rarely come across .mp4 torrents, I've downloaded all .avi.
I use a Dell Inspiron with XP. I must say I haven't downloaded or updated its drivers/codecs, or anything, but it's never stopped me from watching anything.
And I'm sure there must be many like me, the lesser technological humans, (to put it to your satisfaction), and with a PC like me, who thought this one would play too, like .avi.

Ok so first of all, this is mp4 file, not avi Video is fine but as somebody wrote audio is not so good.
You will need subtitles for this movie but be aware that if you don't want english subtitles you will have problems finding them because file is mp4
Maybe there is a way to watch this file and srt subs but I don't know how :)
edit: I found out how to resolve this problem. you need to convert mp4 to avi with some program or just to use vlc to watch it.
